DHAKA: Vehicular movement became normal through city’s Banani Flyover after about six hours a truck overturned on the flyover early Saturday as its driver lost control over steering.
Earlier, a red chilies-loaded truck (Gazipur Ta 02-0057) of Mita Enterprise overturned on the flyover around 3:45am, halting traffic movement though one lane of the flyover, connecting from Uttara to Farmgate.
Being informed, police and representatives of Mita Enterprise rushed to the spot and removed the truck using wrecker at 9:45am, clearing the road for movement.
Cantonment Thana Sub-Inspector M Harun-or-Rashid told banglanews that the overturned-truck was removed within very short time, making vehicular movement normal.
Slight jam appeared on the entry road to DOHS.
The truck, carrying 242 sacks of red chilies, was on its way to the city’s Shaymbazar from Satkhira district, Abdur Rahman, a representative of Mita Enterprise, told banglanews.
Police took the damaged truck to Cantonment Thana.
