DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked Khulna Divisional Commissioner to take immediate steps to recover the damage after oil spilled from the capsized tanker.

The premier made the direction while talking with Khulna Divisional Commissioner Abdus Samad through video conference on Monday noon.

However, the PM also asked him to monitor the matter carefully.

On the other hand, Sheikh Hasina, at that time, also spoke with Gopalganj and Jessore Deputy Commissioners.

An oil tanker sank in Shela river in the Sundarbans on Tuesday last and spilled some 3.58 lakh litres of furnace oil at Mongla upazila of Bagerhat district.
