CHITTAGONG: Two brothers were killed in an attack by rivals over dispute related to business in port city’s Badamtoli area on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Faridul Alam, 45, Abu Siddique, 42, sons of late Abdus Sabur and resided in Badamtoli area under Chandgaon thana.
Quoting witnesses, police said rivals attacked the two siblings at night while they were returning home after attending a Namaz-e-Janaza, leaving Faridul dead on the spot and Siddique injured critically.
Later, they were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where duty-doctor declared them dead.
Nayek Shilabrata of CMCH police outpost confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Chandgaon thana sub-inspector Abul Kalam Azad told banglanews that the duo have been killed over previous dispute. The bodies bore deep injury marks in the head.
The matter is now under investigation, he added.
