RANGPUR: At least two people were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on Rangpur-Dhaka highway at Sholagari area under Pirganj upazila of the district Tuesday morning.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Piar Ali, 32, hailed from Sothibari area of Mithapukur upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Mithapukur Thana Israil Hossain told banglanews that a passenger-bus and goods laden truck collided at the area around 7:45am, leaving two people dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

The injured were rushed to Pirganj and Palashbari health complexes.
