DHAKA: The government is going to establish a specialized public university in Gazipur.

The cabinet on Monday approved in principle the draft of Digital University, Bangladesh Act 2014’ for establishing the university. 

The approval came from a meeting of the cabinet with Prime Minister Sheikh Haisna in the chair. 

After the meeting, cabinet secretary M Mosharrof Hossin Bhuiyan was talking to reporters. 

He said the university would be set up at Hi-Tech Park of the district.

The specialized public varsity will provide education on studies and research on digital technology, biotechnology, digital management, digital development and advanced technology 

Apart from that, it will provide education in science, engineering and technology, information and communication technology and conduct research on theoretical and practical issues.

Besides, regular education system, it will also introduce online education.
