Bangladesh envoy meets Vietnam President

DHAKA: Bangladesh ambassador to Vietnam Shahab Ullah presented his credentials to Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Monday.

Receiving the ambassador, the President expressed his satisfaction and said, in his tenure, the friendly relations between the two countries would be more strengthened and the present trade volume of 600 million will increase in near future, said a press release.

The ambassador also expressed his profound gratitude to Ho Chi Minh terming him the greatest leader of all time.

The envoy said that he has conveyed the message of good will and friendship of President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh for continuous growth and welfare of Vietnamese people.

He recognized with gratitude the continuous support of Vietnam for the cause of Bangladesh in all international forums.

The ambassador further said that Bangladesh is keen to share with Vietnam the spectacular achievements in the areas of poverty reduction, disaster management, micro-credit financing and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Shahab Ullah recalled the Vietnam visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in November, 2012 and said that she is expecting the return visit of her counterpart in near future.

The president also emphasized on high level visit of two countries that the bilateral relations could be more strengthen in the coming days.
