4 killed in city road mishaps

DHAKA:  Four people were killed in separate road accidents at different places in the city early Thursday, the first day of 2015,

The deceased were identified as Amir Hossain Babu, 45, resided in Kaptan Bazar area of old Dhaka, Dulal, 20, an employee of pen factory, Sohag, 30, and Mirajul Islam, 41 .

Two people were killed when a truck hit a motorcycle at Kalachandpur Bus Stand in Vatara area early Thursday, leaving one dead on the spot and inuring another.

The injured was whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the morning.

Vatara Thana officer-in-cahrge Sarwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police seized the truck but the driver managed to flee the spot, said the SI.

The bodies have been kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

On the other hand, a truck knocked the bi-cycle of Dulal from behind at 12:00am in city’s Kamrangirchar area, leaving him injured critically, said deceased’s friend Abul Kashem to banglanews.

Later, he was whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital pronounced him dead around 12:30am.

 Besides, one Mainuddin found an injured man lying on the street in critical condition in capital’s Darusslam area.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

DMCH police camp in-charge Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
