NARAYANGANJ: Five people were injured in a boiler blast at Amanah Garment Factory in Gabtali area under Fatullah upazila on Saturday night.

The injured are Jasim Uddin, Jamal, Babu, Aslam and Rafique.

Factory marketing manager Rajib told banglanews that steam boiler of the swing section exploded on the 5th floor around 7:30pm on the day, leaving a factory worker injured.

None was there during blast but Jasim, a finishing supervisor, as the factory had already been closed for the day, added the manager.

Glass pieces spread out in surrounding area due to the blast, injuring four pedestrians.

Jasim was undergoing treatment at Nrayanganj 300-Bed Hospital while the others were treated locally.

Fatulla Model Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) confirmed the matter to banglanews.
