DHAKA: Additional police forces have been being deployed at all strategic points of the city since Sunday morning to avoid all types of untoward activities ahead of Awami League’s and BNP’s programs.

Additional police, meanwhile, have taken position in BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan area of the city since the morning.

Armoured personnel carrier (APC), riot cars, water cannons were seen standing in the area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional (Motijheel zone) Anwar Hossina told banglanews that additional forces were deployed in front of BNP’s office and its adjacent area considering the country’s existing political situations.

No BNP leaders were available to comment on the matter in front of the BNP’s office.

Police are taking positions at different point of the city including Badda Link Road, Rampura BTV Bahaban area, Malibagh rail crossing, Chudhurypara, Mowchak, Mogbazar intersection, FDC intersection, Kakrail, Shahjahanpur, Kamlapur Railway Station, Notredem College area, Shapla Chttar, Baitul Mokarram area, National Press Club, High Court area, Shurawardy Uddyan, Paribag, Kataban, Since Laboratory, Lalbagh area, Azimpur, and Palasi intersection.

Police are taking there as they had information that BNP leaders and activists are planning to gathers in these places.
