Bus, car torched in city

DHAKA: Miscreants torched a bus at Sher-e-Bangla road in Mohammadpur area of the city early Monday.

Fire service control room duty officer Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.

A bus helper said some miscreants torched the parked bus around 4:30am.

Being informed, two units of fire service team rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

However, none was reportedly injured in the arson attack as the bus has no passenger on board.

Besides, a car was also torched in Dhanmondi No. 24 road around 10:30pm Sunday.

Two fire service units doused the fire immediately.

Earlier from Sunday noon to 10:00pm, some 20 vehicles including buses, CNG-run auto rickshaws and private cars were torched.
