DHAKA: Police detained 68 people on accusation of creating violence and vandalism in Dhaka city during ‘Democracy Victory Day’ and ‘Democracy Killing Day’ observance by ruling Awami League and opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) respectively on Monday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner in charge of media Masudur Rahman informed the journalists.
He said that 68 persons were held as they were trying to create violence.
Legal action will be taken against the detainees, he added.
