Bus, private car torched in city, 3 burnt

DHAKA: At least three people received burn injuries when miscreants set fire to a private car and a passenger bus at places in the city on Friday midnight, on the fourth day of the nationwide blockade called by BNP.

The injured --Abul Kalam, 26, driver of the private car and  Mizanur Rahman, 30 and Abdul Gafur 32, passengers of the bus, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Kalam received 30 percent burn injuries to his body, while Major portion of Rahman two legs, two hands were burned in the fire and two legs and a hand of Gafur sustained severe burn injuries, DMCH burn unit sources said.

Injured Abul Kalam told banglanews that miscreants hurled three petrol bombs targeting the private car which was parked in front of Agora in city’s Mogbazar area at 11: 00pm, leaving him injured critically.

On the other hand, a running bus was set afire presumably by blockaders in Mohammadpur Beribandh area at night, leaving two passengers injured.

DMCH police camp in-charge Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
