2 launches’ route permit canceled

DHAKA: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Tuesday cancelled the route permits of MV Parabat-9 and MV Sundarban-8 after those killed 3 people in head on collision in river Meghna.

BIWTA Chairman Dr. Shamsuddoha Khandaker confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Meanwhile, a case was filed in connection to the collision, confirmed MV Parabat-9 manager Mokhlesur Rahman to banglanews.

The managers, however, denied the cancellation of the route permits.

Three people were killed including a minor and 10 others injured as those launches collided at Chandpur estuary in river Meghna on early Tuesday.
