DHAKA: The Bangladesh Coastguard seized a trawler with 80 maunds of Jatka (hilsa fry) in the Meghna River in on Friday.

A team of Coastguard was patrolling the Loggimara area around 11:30am. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the vested quarter fled the spot abandoning the hilsa fry-loaded trawler. 

Later, the coastguard seized the huge amount of fry along with the trawler.

Coastguard Station Commander Lieutenant Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

He said the seized Hilsa fries were distributed among the destitute and orphanages in afternoon.
