DHAKA: Rain and hail hit the city and its outskirts early Saturday in the last end of the winter. Moderate rainfall began in the city’s southern part around 2:30am that lasted about half an hour.
Banglanews24.com readers from Dhammondi, Mogbazar, Iskaton, and Bashunshara areas told the news portal that rain, hail also hit their areas.
Sources of Met Office told banglanews around 3:30am that some 1.4 millimeter rain was recorded in the city. Humidity has also increased following the rain.
Light rain/drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and the region of Faridpur.
According to Met Office, weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Rain also hit the outskirts of the city including Savar area, locals told banglanews.
