SAVAR: Two cleaning workers died after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a septic tank in Nagorkonda area of Savar on Saturday afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Fire Service sources said that one of the workers went inside the septic tank of a house of one Mohammad Ali and became unconscious by inhaling toxic gas in the afternoon.

At one stage, another worker tried to rescue him and also fell sick.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered their bodies from the tank around 6:00pm.

Savar Fire Service Station Officer Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
