CHITTAGONG: A constable was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Jamaler Dokan area under Mirsarai upazila of the district on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as M Ali, 30.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.

Sitakunda circle ASP Salahuddin Sikder told banglanews that a JMB member was being brought to Chittagong from Dhaka by a prison van that was being escorted by a police van.

The police van collided head-on with a covered van when it reached near in the area, leaving three police personnel injured.

The injured were rushed to a local clinic. Later, Constable M Ali succumbed to his injuries on way to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
