Basundhara to preserve Liberation War memories

DHAKA: Bashundhara Group, the largest business conglomerate of the country, has come forward to preserve the history and memories of the country’s liberation war.

The Group will publish the memoirs of freedom fighters of 1971 as recognition of their outstanding contribution to the country’s independence.

Bashundhara Publications has signed a contact with ‘BDS 71’, a reputable publishing house on liberation war books, at the conference room of Bashundhara Corporate Office on Sunday.

Bashundhara Group Advisor (Press and Media) Mohammad Abu Tayeb and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ‘BDS 71’ Hasina Akter Nigar signed the contact on behalf of their respective organizations.

According to the agreement, six books will be published under the title of “Ekattorer Birgantha”. Three of them will be available at market in March and the rest will avail in June.

However, ‘BDS 71’ has been conducting research works on country’s liberation war for a long time. It has already published several books and made documentaries on the war.

Senior Advisor (Research & Development) AR Rashidi, Advisor Major General (retd) Mahbub Haider, Bashundhara Group Senior Executive Director (Land) Liaquat Hussain, Executive Director (Accounts and Finance) of East West Property Development (Pvt) Limited Imrul Hasan, Senior Executive Director (Sales and Marketing) Bidyut Kumar Bhowmik and ‘BDS 71’ officials, among others, were also present at the signing ceremony.
