DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday said live telecast centers would be established in every division of the country within two years.

He made the disclosure in an inaugural ceremony of ‘Training on Television Program Production (Diploma)’ course at National Institute of Mass Commutation (NIMC) at Darus Salam in city in the morning.

Inu further said the government signed agreements for establishing live telecast centers in seven divisions in a bid to promote local cultures.

The agreements will be finalized prior to the next national budget, he added.

With chief executive of Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BFTI) Dr Mohammad Zahangir Hossain in the chair, information secretary Mortuza Ahmed and former director general of Bangladesh Television (BTV) M Hamid, who is also the course director, were, among others, present in the ceremony.
