DHAKA: Newly appointed Chief Justice SK Sinha on Thursday extended the scheduled working hour of country’s apex court with a view to providing services to people speedily.
Registrar of the court SM Quddus Zaman told banglanews that a notification was issued regarding the new schedule of working hour of the Appellate Division and the High Court Division.
The activities of the Appellate Division will, henceforth, run from 9:00am to 11:00am. After the break of half an hour, the court will resume at 11:30am and continue till 1:15pm instead of previous time 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
The office time for the Appellate Division was fixed from 8:00am to 4:00pm of Sunday to Thursday instead of previous time of 8:00am to 3:00pm.
The activities of the High Court Division will start at 10:30am and run till 1:15pm. After a 45-minute break, the court activities will resume at 2:00pm and run till 4:15pm.
The previous schedule of the HC was from 10:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
The office time for the HC division was fixed from 9:00am to 5:00pm that was from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The new schedule will be effective soon, he added.
