RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor Mohammad Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, who is also a BNP leader, and 34 others on Friday were sued over an attack on a goods-laden truck fleet in the town on Thursday.

Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Boalia Thana Mahmudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews at noon.

He further said Sub-Inspector (SI) SM Jahangir Alam filed the case Thursday night.

Mahmudur also said the case was filed mentioning names of eight Jamaat and Chhatra Shibir men and 27 anonymous people.

However, none was shown arrested till Friday noon, he added.

Earlier on Thursday, at least three people were injured as pro-blockaders hurled a petrol bomb and eight to ten crude bombs aiming a fleet of goods laden-trucks that were moving under police and BGB protection from Barnali intersection to Kadirganj Darikhorbona intersection in the town.

They also vandalized a tea stall and set fire to a chair at a barber’s shop, he added.
