MUNSHIGANJ: At least 13 people including five women sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two groups over establishing supremacy in Zoshlong village under Tongibari upazila of the district on Friday.

Locals said that the supporters of former UP chairman Mokhles Dewan and reserved woman UP member of Zoshlong Rina Begum locked into a clash and opened fire in the area around 11:00pm over establishing supremacy, leaving 13 people critically injured.

There was a long standing dispute between them, locals added.

The injured were rushed to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital after providing primary treatment at Tongibari Health Complex.

On information, police rushed to the spot and held four persons from the spot in this connection.

Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation.

Tongibari Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdul Malek confirmed the matter to banglanews.
