President reaches KSA President Abdul Hamid

RIYADH: President Abdul Hamid has reached Riyadh on Saturday to pay his respect in person at the death of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The plane carrying the president landed at King Khalid International Airport at 2:40pm Saudi local time.

Bangladesh ambassador to Riyadh Shahidul Islam told banglanews that a high level official of the kingdom received the President at the airport.

The President will stay at Royal Palace, he added.

However, the President Abdul Hamid left for Riyadh by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Saturday morning, President's press secretary Ihsanul Karim told the media.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, dean of the diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services, principal secretary to the Prime Minister and high civil and military officials were present at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see him off.

President Abdul Hamid is likely to return home on January 25.

The royal court in a statement said that Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud died at 1:00am (Saudi local time) on Friday.
