3 buses torched in Naogaon

NAGAON: Miscreants set alight two buses that led another bus to catch fire at Dhaka Bus Stand of the district on Sunday morning during the early hours on nationwide non-stop 36-hour hartal called by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Locals said they saw that a passenger bus of TR Travels caught fire in the bus stand around 6:45am. On information, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame. In the mean time, fire gutted the bus.

At the same time, miscreants set fire to an air conditioned bus of Dipjal Paribahan there, which also damaged another bus of TR Travels.

Naogaon Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Zakirul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The alliance has been observing the 36-hour shutdown across the country protesting power price hike, government’s ‘conspiracy of sabotages’ and arrest of their 10 thousands leaders and activists since 6:00am on Sunday.
