DHAKA: M Zulfiqur Rahman, currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey, has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea (South Korea).

The External Publicity Wing of Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the disclosure through a press release.

A career diplomat, Zulfiqur Rahman belongs to the 9th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.

In his distinguished diplomatic career, besides his ambassadorial appointment in Turkey, Zulfiqur Rahman served in Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi; Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UN in New York; Bangladesh Embassy, Manama and Bangladesh Consulate General, Los Angeles in various capacities.

He obtained an MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College. Later, he completed a Diploma for Higher and Specialized Studies in Diplomacy and Administration of International Organizations in 1994 from Paris.
