DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated new King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and expressed hope further strong and consolidated relations between the two brotherly countries.

The premier said this in a message sent on Monday congratulating the king on his accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

Hasina said, “I am convinced that your wisdom and statesmanship will contribute positively to fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly people of the Kingdom as well as to the greater unity and prosperity of the Islamic Ummah.”

Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have been enjoying the best of bilateral relations for decades, which is time tested.

Moreover, Bangladesh attaches great importance to its fraternal bonding with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the premier added.

Hasina wished the king and his family good health, long life and happiness, and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia continued peace, progress and prosperity.
