DHAKA: A three-day ‘Police Week’ will begin from January 27 with festive mood on Rajarbagh Police Lines compound of the city.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program in the morning.

The President, Prime Minister, state minister for home affairs, senior home secretary and Inspector General of Police (IGP) gave separate messages in this regard.

President Abdul Hamid said Bangladesh police plays a vital and laudable role in preventing crimes and militancy besides providing domestic security.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the law enforcers play a major role in maintaining the law and order and protecting the people of the country.

On the occasion of Police Week, the premier will give awards to 86 police personnel for their contribution to the force.
