DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically said Bangladesh Police is the symbol of peace, security and discipline of the country.

“We have reformed and developed police forces for making it people friendly, professional and a modern force, she added.

The primer made the remarks while inaugurating the Police Week-2015 at Rajarbagh Police Line parade ground on Tuesday.

Some 86 police officers and constables were awarded Bangladesh Police Medal, President Police Medal, Bangladesh Police Medal (Service) and President Police Medal (Service) at the function for their bravery and achievements.

State minister for home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and high-ups of police also were present here.

The Police Week-2015 will be ended on Thursday through the President’s address and Shield Parade award.
