ACC grills Boishakhi TV DMD

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday quizzed Tipu Alam, the deputy managing director (DMD) of private satellite television channel Boishakhi, for his alleged connection with Moosa Bin Shamsher, also known as Prince Moosa.

Sources told banglanews that ACC deputy director Mir Zai nul Abedin Shibly conducted the session, starting from 11:00am, at the commission’s head office in city’s Segun Bagicha area.

Tipu, however, has been grilled over an allegation of involvement in siphoning off money and accumulation of wealth illegally by DATCO Group chairman Moosa, sources added.

Earlier, ACC quizzed another businessman Shahidullah, also father-in-law of Moosa’s younger son Jubi Hajjaj, for the same allegation.

However, the anti-graft commission interrogated Moosa on December 18, 2014.

Spotlight fell on the Bangladeshi business tycoon Moosa Bin Shamsher after being featured in some international media that revealed his accumulation of wealth worth about USD 7 billion.

Later, ACC decided to launch a probe against the tycoon on November 3 of last year.

Moosa explained before the commission that he made the wealth through legal business.
