DHAKA: Four Bangladeshis among 14 killed and dozens others injured in South Africa in violence that erupted after murder of a local youth.

The Bangladeshis are—Didarul Alam of Feni, Lutfor Rahman and Akhtaruzzaman of Jamalpur and Jomman Ali of Comilla.

However, the matter was not confirmed by any officials of Bangladesh diplomats there.

But Hasan Kabir, a Bangladeshi residing in SA, told banglanews that a local youth was killed on January 19 and people there started killing and looting blaming immigrants for the murder.

Expats Bangladeshis are alleging that Bangladesh Embassy has not taken any step yet, though Shweta Police Super urged Ambassador to sit in a meeting to resolve the matter.

Bangladeshis along with nationals of other countries there are passing time amid fear of losing lives anytime.
