DHAKA: Customs officials seized 18 gold bars weighing two kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday.

Customs joint-commissioner Kazi Zia Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Zia said that tipped-off, officials raided a Dubai-return flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG 048) around 11:30am and seized the gold bars after searching.

The estimated market value of the seized gold bars is about Tk one crore, the official added.

No detention was reported in this connection.
