Gayebana Janaza of blockade victims offered

DHAKA: Leaders and activists of Awami League-led 14-party alliance offered Gayebana Janaza (in absentia funeral prayers) of those perished in terrorism and petrol bomb attacks during ongoing violence after Juma prayer.

The funeral prayers was held at Baitul Mukarram seeking eternal peace as well as early recovery of those burn victims who are undergoing treatment at hospitals during the BNP-sponsored hartal-blockade.

Spokesman of the 14-party alliance, and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim, Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Food Minister Quamrul Islam, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Mia, and 14-party leader Mainuddin Khan Badal, among other joined the funeral.       

Besides, banglanews correspondents from Barisal, Patuakhali, Sunamganj, Akhaua of Brahmanbaria, Joypurhat reported that the Gayebana Janazas were held in the districts after juma prayers. 

Besides, the janaza program was scheduled to be held in all district and upazila headquarters across the country.

On the other hand, temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship were also asked to offer special prayers on the day.
