GAZIPUR: At least five people sustained burn injuries and five others were injured in a petrol bomb attack at a Jamalpur-bound train at Sreepur railway station in the district on Monday evening.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals and clinics.
Sources said that the incident took place around 5:45pm just after the Jamalpur-bound commuter train started its engine amid the 72-hour nationwide hartal and indefinite blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Miscreants at that time hurled some petrol bombs targeting the train’s engine from both sides that left 10 people injured, including 5 burn injuries.
Gazipur Government Railway Police (GRP) Thana in-charge Dadon Mia said, on information, fire service and police rushed to the spot and started their operations.
