CHITTAGONG: The train communications of Chittagong with other parts of the country resumed Monday afternoon 12 hours after the derailment of a train in Boro Takia area under Mirsarai upazila of the dsitrict.
Divisional transport officer Firoj Iftekhar of Railway Eastern Region told banglanews that the trains started plying on the up line.
He further said two salvage trains conducted the rescue work and cleared the up line around 3:30pm, he added.
Earlier in the morning, a Chittagong-bound train from Mymensingh derailed as some miscreants removed pandrol clips of fishplates of rail tracks in the area, leaving at least 10 people injured.
Later, the Railway authorities cancelled the schedule of six trains as the rail communications remain snapped.
The authorities also formed a four-member probe committee, headed-by divisional transport officer Firoj Iftekhar of Railway Eastern Region, to investigate the accident.
