COMILLA: At least seven people were burnt to death on the spot and 20 burnt severely as blockaders threw petrol bomb in a Dhaka-bound bus in Comilla early Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. The bus of Icon Paribahan was coming from Cox’s Bazar.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Miabazar police outpost sergeant Nazimuddin said blockaders threw the bomb in the bus at 3:30am in Jogmohon area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

The bus was totally burnt and fire fighters recovered seven bodies from it. The burnt passengers were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Death toll may rise, as many are in critical condition, police said.
