LAKSMIPUR: A group of miscreants slaughtered Mohammad Rubel (30), former Juba League general secretary of Ward no 4 of Duttapara union of Lakshmipur sadar upazila of the district.

The incident took place on Monday night.

Locals on Tuesday morning found Rubel, son of Abul Khayer, dead in the neighboring Boropara village and immediately informed the police.

Chandraganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said that on information, police rushed to the place and recovered the body.
