DHAKA: Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Thursday urged the businessmen of the country to stage an anti-hartal and anti-blockade demonstration to continue their existence.
FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed made the call in an anti-hartal discussion meeting at its headquarters in the city.
Kazi Akram Uddin urged the businessmen to come on the street with flags across the country from at 12:00 noon to 12:15pm.
He further said, “We want to do business; we do not want to be burnt to death.”
“I will ask two leaders (Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia) to hold talks, if I get chances. I will ask the government to enact laws to stop hartal and blockade, if it is necessitates,” he added.
The first vice-president of FBCCI Manwara Hakim Ali, current vice-president Helal Uddin were among others present at the program.
