CHITTAGONG: A worker has been killed here Thursday night by toxic gas while working on a ship at port area.

The deceased was identified as Mahbub Hossain, 28, son of Habibur Rahman, hailed from Jhalakathi.

Sources told banglanews that the death took place around 9:00pm.

Gas, leaked from the ship on which Mahbub started working earlier, made him unconscious first, sources added. Later he was declared ‘dead’ on arrival at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
