Bangladeshi dies in Malaysia trawler capsize

FARIDPUR: A Bangladeshi citizen has been killed as a trawler capsized in sea near Kuching Sabha area in Malaysia on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Sheikh, 48, hailed from Laksmandia village under Sultanpur union of Rajbari district.

Kalam’s wife Asma Begum told banglanews that her husband, who went Malaysia two years ago, died after a trawler sank in the sea.

“One of his colleagues informed me first on Thursday morning,” she added. “Later in afternoon, I have been confirmed by the company in which my husband was working.”

On the other hand, one of the deceased’s relatives, Zakir Hossain said that they have already started the process of submitting necessary documents and application to manpower office to bring back Kalam’s body.

However, two more Indians also died in the accident.
