DHAKA: Police shot a picket in Jatrabari area of the city on Sunday while he was trying to escape after carrying out a bomb attack on them.

The injured is M Zakir Hossain, 25.

Jatrabari Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Rusel Hossain told banglanews that Zakir threw bombs targeting on-duty police in front of Momenbagh Salauddin School in the area around 1:00pm.

However, in self-defense, police opened fire that left the man bullet-hit on the legs.

Police held the injured while he was trying to escape the scene and later, they admitted him at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the SI added.
