DHAKA: The government has decided to appoint Abdul Motaleb Sarker, currently serving as Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Lebanon.
A career diplomat, Abdul Motaleb Sarker belongs to the 13th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre. In his distinguished diplomatic career he served in Bangladesh Missions in Beijing, Paris, Rabat and Los-Angeles in different capacities.
The disclosure came from a press release of external publicity wing of the ministry of foreign affairs on Sunday.
Abdul Motaleb Sarker has obtained a Bachelor degree in Agriculture from the then Bangladesh Agriculture Institute, Dhaka (presently known as Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University). He takes immense interest in reading books and exploring new avenues of Economic Diplomacy.
