PABNA: A case was filed against 15 suspected anarchists under ‘Speedy Trial Act’ on Monday in connection with petrol-bomb attack on Maitree Express at Ishwardi upazila of the district.

Ishwardi Railway Thana Officer-in-Charge Humayan Kabir filed the case with the police station as a plaintiff on Monday morning.

The law enforcers are trying to nab the convicts in this regard, the OC said.

Moreover, an investigation committee was formed to unveil the details of the attack, said Pakshi Railway Station general manager Mosharaf Hossain.

Earlier on Sunday, miscreants hurled three petrol bombs at the Dhaka-bound ‘Maitree Express Train’ coming from Kolkata, at Ishwardi Railway Station here around 1:55pm.

A fire broke out at the train due to the attack.

Fire fighters of the train with the help of local people put out the fire immediately.

However, no one was reportedly injured in the incident.
