DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid has confirmed the appointment of 10 additional judges of the High Court on a temporary basis for two years under the Article 98 of the Constitution.
The law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.
Deputy secretary of the ministry Mizanur Rahman Khan made the disclosure to banglanews.
The judges are Deputy Attorney Generals Rajik Al Jalil, Bhismadeb Chakrabarti, Mohammad Selim, Mohammad Suhrawardy and Khijir Hayat, Supreme Court lawyers Jyotirmoy Narayan Deb Chowdhury and Iqbal Kabir Lyton Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Chittagong SM Mojibur Rahman (now on post-retirement leave), Supreme Court Registrar M Farid Ahmed Shibli and District and Sessions Judge of Gazipur Amir Hossain.
There are a total of 94 judges at the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court.
