DHAKA: The Saudi Arabia government assured of giving safe working environment as well as security for Bangladeshi workers.

Visiting Saudi Deputy Minister of Labor for International Affairs Dr Ahmad Al Fuhaid gave the assurance at a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali in the ministry in city on Tuesday.

The ministry sources said Dr Ahmad promised that the process of appointing Bangladeshi workers in an easy way will be continued.

He also expressed hope that the workers would be there protecting the dignity, image and reputation of the country, the sources added.

The Saudi deputy minister also invited Mahmood to visit Saudi Arabia to observe the condition of Bangladeshi workers.

The foreign minister said Bangladesh has skilled workforce in the sectors, including medical, engineering, teaching, IT profession, pharmacy and chartered accountants besides general workers.

The skilled workers are also employed in many counties in Europe and North America. They are also working in Korea and Japan with reputation, he added.

They can contribute more to the economy of Saudi Arabia, he said.
