DHAKA: Armed Police Battalion (APBn) members detained five people and seized 721 grams of gold and 2 kilograms of cannabis at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Of the detainees, four are-- Abul Kalam, Nuruzzaman, Ashraful Islam and Ruhul Amin.

APBn nabbed them in separate drives from Tuesday noon to night. APBn media officer Tanjina Akther confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Abul Kalam landed at the airport by a flight of Saudi Airlines in the noon. As he was roaming suspiciously outside the canopy, lawpersons searched him and recovered 300 grams of gold from his possession.

In that afternoon, Nuruzzaman and another unidentified man were detained with three kilograms of cannabis.

Later, APBn nabbed Ashraful Islam and Ruhul Amin at night. Lawmen also recovered 321 grams and 100 grams gold from their possession respectively.
