DHAKA: Pierre Mayaudon, European Union ambassador to Bangladesh has opined that killing people in the name of political movement is merely barbarism.
This violence will not bring any betterment for the nation, he added
The EU envoy made the comment during his courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office in the city on Wednesday.
After the meeting, PM’s deputy press secretary M Nazrul Islam briefed the media.
However, Pierre Mayaudon on Tuesday morning visited the Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see the burn victims.
According to the deputy press secretary, the envoy described his experience to the premier and expressed his wonder saying that how people can carry out these sorts of barbaric activities.
The PM also informed Mayaudon about her visit to the burn victims.
Moreover, the EU ambassador talked about the formation of a business council to increase trade and business between Bangladesh and European Union.
He also expressed his eagerness to cooperate Bangladesh in its development programs, especially in Readymade Garments (RMG), Information Technology (IT) and communication sectors.
