LAKSHMIPUR: Four Bangladeshis and two others were killed as fire broke out in a tailor shop in New Sanaiya town of Oman early Wednesday.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Shipon, 23, son of Abul Bashar Majhi of Char Jangalia village under Kamalnagar upazila in the district.

Councilor of Bangladesh Embassy to Oman Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter.

Shipon’s father said his son’s neighbor Kabir Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said, suddenly in the early morning, the fire broke out in the shop where four Bangladeshis and two Pakistanis slept at night.

The authorities suspected that the fire might be originated from a gas cylinder blast.
