RAJSHAHI: Rail communication between Chapainawabganj and Ishwardi has been restored after 12 hours following the derailment of two compartments of a local train at Lalitnagar area under Godagri upazila early Saturday.

Sources told banglanews that the route was re-established around 12:00pm.

Earlier, two compartments including the engine of the train was derailed as the miscreants removed fishplates from railway tracks.

The incident took place around 12:30am at 500-metre away from Lalitnagar Rail Station.

However, none was reportedly injured in that accident.
