DHAKA: Police shot a youth while he was trying to flee after hurling a cocktail at a vehicle in city’s Dhanmondi area on Wednesday afternoon.

The injured, Masud, 17, claimed himself as a HSC first-year student of Cambrian School and College of Lalmatia branch in the capital, is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Sources said that he was injured around 3:00pm on Road-6 in Dhanmondi.

Dhanmondi Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Sahidul Islam, confirming the matter, said that he received bullet injuries at his right heel while escaping the scene after hurling a cocktail.

Later, he was taken to the DMCH, he added.
