DHAKA: A fire broke out at six-storied building in Motijheel commercial area of the city early Thursday.
Sources of Fire Service and Civil Defense said that the fire originated from somewhere inside Taranga Complex around 12:00am and soon engulfed the entire spaces of the second and the third floors.
On information, five fire fighter units rushed in and doused the flame after half-an-hours of hectic effort.
Head branch of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited and foreign trade branch of National Bank Limited were located on those two floors.
All documents and papers were bunt. However, the damage caused by the fire could not be estimated immediately, the sources added.
